Many people have asked us what Amanzi’s secret is. The answer is astoundingly simple and yet hard to replicate.

The truth is that, while the views, the house and the spirit of Leisure Isle play an integral role, the real magic of Amanzi Island Lodge is created by the energy, commitment and enthusiasm of the team who keep it running everyday!!

Manager: Margaret

We’re thrilled to have Margaret back at the lodge! This is a woman for whom nothing is ever too much trouble. She’s a constant source of joy, advice and laughter for both the guests and staff alike. Margaret is our rock, our surrogate mum and our daily inspiration - and (whether she planned on it or not !) has become an integral part of the Amanzi Family

Domestic Staff: Letti, Jen and Buki

These three women have been part of the Amanzi Lodge family since the early days. Letti was the first to join us before the guesthouse was even a guesthouse, and regular guests look forward to Letti’s friendliness and caring warmth as much as her wonderful eggs and bacon! As the guesthouse, grew Jen and Buki joined the team and wasted no time in becoming part of the Amanzi spirit.

Letti, Jen and Buki are loyal, committed and hard-working, but mostly they radiate love and warmth, and we are blessed to have them in our team.

Jack of All Trades: Barricus

What on earth would we do without Barricus? He’s the Lodge Handyman and Go-To-Guy. He’s not officially a staff member or a family member – but he may as well be!

Owners: Helen and Sue

Amanzi Island Lodge was started in December 2003 by Helen, regularly assisted by her mum - Sue. Proud caretakers of a holiday house on the water’s edge they decided to share the magical energy of their beach front home with travellers. And never has a home been more loved!

Mojo

We can’t forget Mojo the Jack Russel who trots in with mum in the mornings and has kept many a homesick guest company on a walk around the island after breakfast
